Designing Your New Pool

There is a lot to consider when designing your new pool, but no worries. We'll be here every step of the way to make the process quick, easy, & exciting!

Before purchasing your new pool, lets go over a few options & accessories you'll be presented with.

  • Lets Plan Your Pool Together

The expression of your hopes and dreams for your space takes shape in the design process. We come out to your home and listen to you - we want to understand what you envision for your space, and how that relates to the current state of your backyard. After getting to know you and the scope of what you want, we take measurements of your backyard. Those measurements are used to create scale environment that brings your concept to life. Once the design is completed - we walk you through this scale environment and provide you with a detailed proposal that encompasses all the costs associated with the scope of your project.

  • Making Family Memories

After the agreement is finalized, we order engineering details and put together a construction plan for the permitting process with the city. We give you a plan to submit to your HOA. Once we have HOA approval and permit in hand we begin the dig process. After the pool has been dug, we install the polymer or steel pool walls, & pour concrete (bonding footer) around the perimeter of the pool, & install your plumbing lines. After the plumbing lines and electric are run then the concrete bottom is poured. After the bottom finishes the curing process, we enter into the masonry phase. In the masonry phase the ascetic details of the project are added and you begin to see the semblance of the finished product. Take heart because we are with you at every phase, communicating with you, our team, and our subcontractors – our proactive communication keeps you informed, so you are always aware of what is happening and when it’s happening. After the masonry phase is complete, we install your pool liner, and schedule a pool equipment orientation with one of our pool service specialists. Our specialist will provide you with a month of service and answer any maintenance questions you may have. We are with you at every phase and will continue to be a resource for you as you enjoy your space.

Questions & Answers

What is the start to finish process?

A full installation will consist of multiple phases. Lets go over the full process below.

1. Pool Design

Designing your new pool is normally the longest phase of your installation. If you have a model in mind, we'll work with your manufacturer to get the perfect pool on paper. We'll present you with "Preliminary Pool Designs" for your specific model. We can make changes to these designs accordingly. Once your satisfied with your new pools design, we can submit your design for custom pricing. We can have your custom price normally within just a couple of days. We'll then come out to your home, & paint your pool in your yard. At this point, we can take the "Kit Check" for the price of your new pool kit, & place the order for your new kit.

2. City Planning / Permits

We'll present the city with a build plan, & a dimensional drawing of your property to obtain the build permits needed for your construction. The client will need to schedule the city to locate, & mark any buried lines in your yard. You can do this by dialing 811, & the short automated process will present you with a date that the city can come out. The city will mark any buried lines that may be inside your excavation site. This must be done prior to excavation.

3. Excavation

The excavation process is not included in the Standard Installation Price. We have put together a small team of excavation professionals, (that have been trained by Pool & Leisure) to excavate swimming pools to very precise dimensions. We will meet with the Excavation Managers at your home, & they will present us with options, & pricing on excavation/debris removal. Most excavations average $3-$5k + Debris Removal.

4. Installation

The installation process is where you'll see your pool take form. The installation Process will begin with your "Materials Payment". This will allow us to bring out the needed materials to construct your pool. We'll begin by installing your pool walls atop a 2" paver-stone perimeter. We'll then form, & sculpt your pool bottom to it's specific dimensions. Next, we'll bring out a concrete truck to pour a 8" "Bonding Footer" around the full perimeter of your pool, therby locking in all of your pool panels. We'll also use this time to install your concrete equipment pad. Next we'll plumb your pools water lines, & filter/pump pad equipment. All of our pluming lines are pressure tested before your equipment is installed. Once your plumbing lines are installed, we'll install your mortar/vermiculite pool bottom. We'll also use this time to install your liner track. Next, we'll install your new pool liner, & begin filling your pool. Filling a pool normally takes 1-3 days. After your pool water has filled a minimum of half of the pool, we will install your skimmer/returns/lighting plates, & cut in your liner. We'll then backfill your pool with a clean stone.

4. Electrical

The electrical phase of your installation requires a city inspection process, & is not included in our Standard Installation Price. We will meet with your electrician at your home (prior to installation), & they will present us with options & pricing. Your electrical services will include bonding all metal surfaces of your pool, as well as your equipment, & lighting. Your electrician will install a service power box that will feed power to your pools equipment. Your electrician will make several appearances throughout the full installation process. After backfill, they will bond your pool, & this will need to be inspected by the city. After inspection is passed they will install your power unit, & again this will be inspected by the city. After your final inspection, we will power on your new pool for the first time. At this point, your new swimming pool is installed, & we'll ask for the final labor payment.

5. Masonry

We also offer many masonry services such as concrete patios, & retaining/Accent walls. All masonry must be planned out during your initial pool design, & prior to pool installation. Retaining/Accent walls will normally be installed prior to, or during pool installation. Masonry Services are not included in our Standard Pool Installation pricing, & will constitute a separate service agreement.
